We will have our usual raffle of prizes, Bloody Mary Bar, and we will also be collecting toys and cash donations for Operation Homefront. You can make a donation online by purchasing the denomination desired during registration. Our speaker will be Paige Blechinger who is the Chief of the USACE Savannah District Contracting Division; she'll be giving an overview of Savannah District contracting opportunities.

Annual Operation Homefront Toy Drive:  Help Make The Season Bright!

The SAME Savannah Post has once again chosen to support the annual Operation Homefront - Holiday Meals for Military program in December.  Our effort supports nearly 300 Fort Stewart/HAAF families during the holiday season.  Last year, thanks to generous donors, OH served nearly 10,000 families nationwide with everything they needed for a spectacular holiday meal. Since OH began the holiday programs in 2008, they have served nearly 90,000 military families, impacting over 420,000 family members.   This year, we'd like to invite SAME Savannah Post members to donate gently used or new toys to be donated to the children of the recipient Fort Stewart/HAAF families.  If interested in supporting, please bring your donations to the September, October and November luncheons of SAME Savannah.

Operation Homefront is a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit whose mission is to build strong, stable, and secure military families so they can thrive — not simply struggle to get by — in the communities they have worked so hard to protect. For over fifteen years, we have provided programs that offer: RELIEF (through Critical Financial Assistance and transitional housing programs), RESILIENCY (through permanent housing and caregiver support services) and RECURRING FAMILY SUPPORT programs and services throughout the year that help military families overcome the short-term bumps in the road so they don’t become long-term chronic problems. Operation Homefront has consistently earned high ratings from leading charity rating services, including Charity Navigator, which gave OH 4 Stars for 11 consecutive years for superior service and accountability. At Operation Homefront, 92 percent of expenditures goes directly toward delivering programs and services to the military families who need it most.
