John Ramey has served in his current position as the Director of Public Works, Fort Gordon, GA since March 2007. Previously he served as the Project General Manager for KBR Base Operations Contract at Fort Knox, Director of Public Works Fort Drum, NY; Deputy Chief of Staff Engineers, Space and Missile Defense Command and Director of Public Works 104th Area Support Group, Hanau Germany. He has over 20 years of experienced leadership in the Public Works field.

Mr. Ramey is responsible for master planning, real property management, engineering design and construction, maintenance and repair of infrastructure, utility systems and environmental compliance and conservation for over 9.5M square feet of real property and 57,000 acres of land. Mr. Ramey leads a team that manages over $21M yearly in maintenance and repairs, restoration and modernization program of $107M through FY15 and new construction of $126M program through FY16.

John Ramey has been recognized as a leader in the Public Works field in both government and private industry. In 1998 and 2003, he was the winner of the William C. Gribble Jr Executive of the Year Award for Army Public Works and in 2005 received the William T. Coffey Award for Project Excellence from KBR as their outstanding Program General Manager in Government and Infrastructure.

John is a 26 year veteran of the U.S. Army as a Corps of Engineer officer retiring as a Colonel. His award and decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star and Meritorious Service Award with three oak leaf clusters, Master Parachutist Badge and Ranger Tab. His civilian education includes Certified Facility Manager with the International Facility Management Association and a Masters in Science in General Administration.
